Baseball Preview: Horizon Honors Eagles vs. Morenci Wildcats
The Horizon Honors Eagles will be playing at home against the Morenci Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Horizon Honors stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard two weeks ago. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Willcox a 7-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for Horizon Honors.
Austin Ragsdale made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 6.2 innings pitched. Ragsdale has been consistent recently: he hasn't pitched less than five innings in eight consecutive pitching appearances. Ragsdale was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with a home run, three runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Richard Fretwell and Zach Hull did most of the damage at the plate: Fretwell went 3-for-4 with two RBI, while Hull went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double. Antonio Arellano was another key contributor, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
