Basketball Recap: Lancaster Comes Up Short

Lancaster was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Highland Bulldogs an easy 58-36 win. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in January.

Despite the loss, Lancaster still got an impressive performance from Alvaro Martinez, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 18 points. The dominant performance gave Martinez a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keelan Benjamin, who posted seven points.

Lancaster's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Highland, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-6.

Lancaster didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 69-58 win against Newbury Park on the 20th. Highland and Hoover will round out the year against one another at at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
