Basketball Recap: Bowman County co-op [Bowman/Scranton] Takes a Loss

Bowman County co-op [Bowman/Scranton] easily dispatched Trinity last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Bowman County co-op [Bowman/Scranton] Bulldogs fell just short of the Harding County Ranchers by a score of 53-50 on Tuesday. The loss was the Bulldogs' first of the season.

Leading Harding County to victory were Brayden Padden and Bailey Rae Verhulst. Padden went 9 of 13 on her way to 18 points in addition to eight boards and three blocks, while Rae Verhulst posted 11 points along with seven assists and seven steals. Those 18 points gave Padden a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Macey Wendt, who had eight points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Bowman County co-op [Bowman/Scranton] fell to 3-1. As for Harding County, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bowman County co-op [Bowman/Scranton] and Flasher will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Harding County, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Belfield at 2:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
