Basketball Recap: Valley Falls Drops Highest Score of Season Against Jefferson County North

Valley Falls scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Jefferson County North Chargers by a score of 51-48. The Dragons' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Despite the loss, Valley Falls had strong showings from Chloe Cox, who posted 14 points and seven boards, and Gracie Conner, who scored nine points and five rebounds. Those 14 points gave Cox a new career-high. Jayden Senn also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

Even though they lost, Valley Falls smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in ten consecutive games dating back to last season.

Valley Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Jefferson County North, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

When Valley Falls and Jefferson County North next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Valley Falls will square off against Horton and their three-game winning streak on February 3rd. Similarly, Jefferson County North will try to stop Troy's seven-game winning streak when the meet at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
