Basketball Recap: River Valley Takes a Loss

River Valley lost against Pleasant back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The River Valley Vikings took a 39-21 bruising from the Pleasant Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 495th, while the Spartans are ranked 216th).

Myla Kenney was River Valley's leading scorer, having posted six points. Megan Clausing held things down on the boards with eight rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

River Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Pleasant, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.

River Valley will look to defend their home court on Friday against Marion Harding at 7:15 p.m. As for Pleasant, they are taking a road trip to take on Galion at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Pleasant is facing Galion at the right time seeing as Galion is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
