Football Game Preview: Navarre Raiders vs. Pace Patriots

Navarre hasn't had much luck against Pace recently, but that could start to change on Monday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Navarre will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any points two weeks ago, then bounced right back against Gulf Breeze last Wednesday. Navarre blew past Gulf Breeze, posting a 46-7 win. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Dolphins are ranked 312th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Navarre didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Shelbee Acord and Jamya Bonham.

Meanwhile, Pace never let their opponents score last Thursday. They breezed past Gulf Breeze to the tune of 46-0. The Patriots have beaten the Dolphins the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Dolphins has come to flipping the script.

Navarre better keep an eye on Amaya Pablo. She was instrumental in Pace's win, throwing for 231 yards and four touchdowns while completing 83.3% of her passes, and also rushing for 39 yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance gave Pablo a new career-high in rushing touchdowns. Kenna Pacitti was in the mix too, providing Pace with two touchdowns.

Navarre's record now sits at 6-4. As for Pace, their record is now 7-1.

Navarre was dealt a bruising 34-0 loss at the hands of Pace in their previous matchup on March 3rd. Can Navarre avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
