Grove City is 4-0 against Westland since October of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Grove City Greyhounds are headed away from home for the first time to challenge the Westland Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Grove City is headed out to face Westland after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Grove City blew past Teays Valley, posting a 42-7 win at home. Given the Greyhounds' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Vikings are ranked 319th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ayden Mckinstry went supernova for Grove City, rushing for 180 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Mckinstry's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Welsh, who threw for 223 yards and three touchdowns.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Grove City was moving up and down the field and finished the game with 428 total yards. That's the most total yards they've posted since back in September of 2023.

Meanwhile, Westland came into Friday's matchup having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Their defense stepped up to hand Centennial a 42-0 shutout on Friday.
