Softball Recap: Kennewick Comes Up Short

If Kennewick was feeling good fresh off their 24-18 takedown of Hermiston last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lions fell just short of the Southridge Suns by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Suns: they've now lost five in a row.

Rylee Bendewald was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Kennewick's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Southridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Kennewick is set to square off against their familiar foe Chiawana at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Southridge will face off against rival Richland at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
