Softball Recap: Puckett Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Puckett waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with an 11-7 win over the North Pike Jaguars. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wolves also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Lila Murphy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and five unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Erin Fletcher was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two triples and two runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Pardue, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Puckett kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Pike only managed six hits.

Puckett's victory bumped their record up to 6-2-1. As for North Pike, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Puckett will square off against Pisgah at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Pike, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Clinton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
