Basketball Game Preview: Pendleton County Wildcats vs. Grant County Braves

The Pendleton County Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Grant County Braves at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pendleton County will be strutting in after a win while Grant County will be coming in after a loss.

Pendleton County will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Boone County, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. Pendleton County pulled ahead with a 51-50 photo finish over Boone County on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Grant County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against Bryan Station, falling 91-71. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while the Defenders are ranked fifth).

Grant County's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Pendleton County, their victory bumped their record up to 14-12.

Pendleton County came up short against Grant County when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 75-63. Can Pendleton County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
