Basketball Game Preview: Port Gibson Blue Waves vs. South Pike Eagles

The Port Gibson Blue Waves are taking a road trip to challenge the South Pike Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Port Gibson will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Port Gibson didn't have too much trouble with Wesson as they won 57-42.

Meanwhile, South Pike took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 76-46 win over Franklin County. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

South Pike is also on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Port Gibson, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-14.

Port Gibson didn't have too much breathing room in their game against South Pike in their previous matchup on January 14th, but they still walked away with a 63-58 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Port Gibson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
