Volleyball Recap: Auburndale Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Auburndale can now relate to. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Edgar Wildcats on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Auburndale couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Edgar a tough time in the first set. The final score came out to 28-30, 25-20, 25-19, 25-21.

When it comes to explaining why Auburndale lost, don't look at Kylie Anderson. Despite the final result, she had 16 digs and three assists. Anderson has been hot, having posted 14 or more digs the last five times she's played.

Kaitlynn Hartnady went supernova For Edgar., getting 25 digs and five aces. That's the most digs Hartnady has posted since back in October of 2024.

Auburndale's defeat dropped their record down to 23-13. As for Edgar, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-7 record this season.

Auburndale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Edgar, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Regis on the 25th.
