Baseball Game Preview: Concord Minutemen vs. Mishawaka Cavemen

The Concord Minutemen will face off against the Mishawaka Cavemen at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Concord is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

On Monday, Concord came up short against Northridge and fell 7-3.

Alex Kridler was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Noah Norwood was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Mishawaka nor Goshen made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Cavemen fell 3-0 to the RedHawks. The Cavemen's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Colton Handley was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, Mishawaka saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shawn Nowacki, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Concord's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Mishawaka, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.
