Recap: Nantahala Hawks vs. Varsity Opponent
The Nantahala Hawks can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They blew past Varsity Opponent 51-30. The victory was just what Nantahala needed coming off of a 83-21 defeat in their prior contest.
Nantahala can attribute much of their success to Dylan Baldwin, who scored 18 points. Cole McCoy was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 steals.
The victory got Nantahala back to even at 3-3. As for Varsity Opponent, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost 13 of their last 16 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 98-379-5 record this season.
Nantahala will be playing in front of their home fans against Copper Basin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Copper Basin has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 169 points over their last three contests. As for Varsity Opponent, they will head out on the road to face off against Riverfield Country Day at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
