Softball Recap: Ashland Comes Up Short

Ashland had lost four straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 3-7 to make it five. They fell 7-3 to the New Philadelphia Quakers. If the Arrows were looking for revenge after losing 7-3 to the Quakers when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for New Philadelphia, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games.

For New Philadelphia's part, the team relied heavily on Easton Miller, who went 1-for-5 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Miller a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Devore, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

While Ashland had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
