After a string of four wins, The West Trojans''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Grandview by a score of 21-19. West was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Grandview apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.

Gus Crain and Coy Klish certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Crain threw for 128 yards and two touchdowns, while Klish gained 126 total yards and a touchdown.

West's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Grandview, their win was their fourth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 9-1.

West will challenge Gateway Charter Academy on Friday. Gateway Charter Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1168th, while West is ranked 441st). As for Grandview, they will be playing at home against Whitney at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Whitney knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Grandview likes a good challenge.
