Football Recap: Selinsgrove Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Selinsgrove had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-7 to make it five. They were beaten by the Hollidaysburg Golden Tigers 42-14. The Seals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.

When it comes to explaining why Selinsgrove lost, don't look at Brett Rice. Despite the final result, he rushed for 84 yards and one touchdown. Rice really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed eight in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Rice, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

As for Hollidaysburg, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 27 points or more this season.

Cole Delattre had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 205 yards and four scores while picking up 10.8 yards per carry, and also throwing for 123 yards and one TD. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 102 rushing yards. Hollidaysburg also got a significant boost from Carter Muth, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 85 yards.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Selinsgrove will venture away from home to face off against Berwick at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Seals will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven contests. As for Hollidaysburg, they will head out on the road to challenge Williamsport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Tigers will be up against the Millionaires' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.13 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
