Patterson extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 1-3. They came up short against the Morgan City Tigers, falling 17-11. Even if the Lumberjacks couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Parker Brocato was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
As for Morgan City, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-4 record. Considering they have won three matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
On Morgan City's side, Colin Lasseigne made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Lasseigne has become a key player for Morgan City: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 1-3 otherwise. Lasseigne was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kade Allen, who went 4-for-5 with six stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zakyrian Ayers, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Looking ahead, Morgan City will look to defend their home field on Monday against Franklin at 4:00 p.m. Patterson will be paying especially close attention to the Tigers' contest: after the Tigers face off against the Hornets, they'll take on Patterson again at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
