Basketball Recap: Fairlawn Takes a Loss

Fairlawn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost to the Riverside Pirates on the road by a 43-28 margin. The Jets were down 37-16 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Riverside's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avery Perk, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 11 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. What's more, Perk also posted a 45% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kenna Johnson, who posted seven points and ten steals.

Fairlawn's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Riverside, their win bumped their record up to 5-15.

Fairlawn didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-26 loss against Jackson Center on the 6th. As for Riverside, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 46-25 victory against Milton-Union on the 6th.
