Baseball Recap: Winston County Comes Up Short

Winston County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 20-3 to the Sumiton Christian Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent defeat being a 12-0 loss on Thursday.

Winston County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Walker Lewis, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Winston County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Sumiton Christian, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 17-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winston County will venture away from home to face off against Lynn at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sumiton Christian, they will challenge Cordova at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
