Sierra Grande can bid farewell to their six-match losing streak thanks to their match on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Mountain Valley Wolves. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 back in August.

Sierra Grande had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-20.

Eneria Quintana paced Sierra Grande's offense, picking up 16 kills. Quintana got some help from Audrianna Gerardo and her 16 assists. Quintana was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

When it comes to explaining why Mountain Valley lost, don't look at Ivy Jean VanEgmond. Despite the final result, she had 22 digs and three aces. VanEgmond has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times she's played. Zenna Hess also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Sierra Grande's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-10. As for Mountain Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Sierra Grande wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Primero on the 3rd. As for Mountain Valley, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Sangre de Cristo on the 2nd.
