Volleyball Recap: Central A & M Takes a Loss

Central A & M was the 2-1 winner over St. Teresa when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Raiders took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs on Thursday.

While Central A & M had to take the loss, they sure made a game of it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-23.

St. Teresa can attribute much of their success to Elia Smith, who had ten assists and three aces. That's the most aces Smith has posted over her last seven contests.

Central A & M has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for St. Teresa, with the win, they broke their six-match losing streak and moved their record to 3-14.

Coming up, Central A & M will face off against Carlyle at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for St. Teresa, they will take on Mt. Pulaski at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
