Softball Game Preview: Cabrillo Jaguars vs. Oxford Academy Patriots

The Cabrillo Jaguars will kick their season off against the Oxford Academy Patriots on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled at 3:15 p.m.

Cabrillo will be up against a hot Oxford Academy squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. Oxford Academy came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against Bell Gardens.

Oxford Academy's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

As for Cabrillo, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they finished 3-15.

Cabrillo suffered a grim 20-2 defeat to Oxford Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Cabrillo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
