Baseball Recap: Mccallie Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

McCallie's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Chattanooga Christian Chargers. This was a revenge game for the Blue Tornado: when they faced off against the Chargers on Monday, they had to take a 10-4 loss.

McCallie got a great performance from Peyton McAllister as he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Those hits marked the first that McAllister allowed this season.

On the hitting side, Andrew Polen was a standout: he scored a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Kelby Barnett, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

McCallie's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-11. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Chattanooga Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7-1.

McCallie will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Chargers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
