Softball Game Preview: Yorkville Foxes vs. Lemont Lemont HS

The Yorkville Foxes will face off against the Lemont Lemont HS at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Wednesday, Yorkville made easy work of Plainfield North and carried off an 8-2 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Foxes.

Meanwhile, Lemont made easy work of Oak Lawn on Wednesday and carried off a 14-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Lemont HS in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won seven in a row.

Lemont pushed their record up to 25-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Yorkville, their win bumped their record up to 20-11.

Yorkville took their victory against Lemont in their previous meeting back in March of 2019 by a conclusive 6-0 score. Do the Foxes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lemont HS turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
