Preview: Leadership Academy Falcons vs. Carver Yellowjackets
Leadership Academy is 5-0 against Carver since February of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Leadership Academy Falcons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Carver Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. Leadership Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Carver will be coming in after a defeat.
Leadership Academy was handed a 41-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Bethany on Friday. Leadership Academy narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Bethany 49-46. The victory was just what Leadership Academy needed coming off of a 65-24 defeat in their prior matchup.
Leadership Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ali Faenza led the charge by scoring 21 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Brenna Lauten, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Carver was the victim of a tough 54-30 defeat at the hands of Piedmont Classical on Tuesday.
Leadership Academy's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Carver, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
Leadership Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Carver in their previous matchup back in January, winning 50-38. Will Leadership Academy repeat their success, or does Carver have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
