Basketball Recap: Newport Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Newport has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They received a blow on Friday as they fell 75-59 to the Rivercrest Colts. The Greyhounds were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Colts earlier this season, when they won 57-47.

Newport's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-6. As for Rivercrest, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newport will square off against Hazen at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Rivercrest, they will head out on the road to square off against Manila at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
