Soccer Game Preview: Encinal vs. Alameda

Encinal hasn't had much luck against Alameda recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Encinal Jets will welcome the Alameda Hornets at 6:30 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Encinal is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Friday. They lost 10-0 to Piedmont.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Alameda's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to De La Salle. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Spartans are ranked 34th).

Encinal's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Alameda, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.
