Softball Recap: Peck's Undefeated Season over After 11 Games

The Peck Pirates came up short against the Croswell-Lexington Pioneers on Monday and fell 6-2. The match marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Ryleigh Ureel put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

Ureel wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ava Collins, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Having lost for the first time this season, Peck fell to 10-1. As for Croswell-Lexington, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

While Peck had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
