Zach Thorson Drops League-Best Effort on Friday

Starting off the list is Goodland's Zach Thorson, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Thorson threw for 304 yards and five touchdowns.

Goodland's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Thorson and Goodland will head out to face off against Scott at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Chayton Goodwin Delivers Best Performance of Season

Chayton Goodwin produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Goodland to the win on Friday. Goodwin rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run.

On the season, Goodwin has averaged 21 receiving yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after six games last season, he had one rushing touchdown. This year he is already up to four.

A Constellation of Stars for Goodland

Another Goodland player making an appearance on this list is Linkon Cure. He picked up 76 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

For the season, Cure has caught 10 touchdowns while averaging 94.7 receiving yards per game.

Ulysses was sadly handed a loss on Friday, but Stryker Berglund did his best to prevent it. Berglund was dynamite, rushing for 31 yards.

Ulysses is on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6. Berglund and Ulysses will host Liberal at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Korbin Johnson Makes Top Five

Rounding off our Top Five is Korbin Johnson of Holcomb. Johnson picked up 67 receiving yards, and also rushed for 46 yards. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 59 yards.

Holcomb's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2. Johnson and Holcomb will host Hugoton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
