Basketball Recap: Innovation Academy Comes Up Short

Innovation Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 69-53 to the Mystic Valley Regional Eagles. The The Red Tailed Hawk were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Innovation Academy lost, don't look at Bryce Kankam. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards. Kankam has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Vega, who posted 16 points and five boards.

Dalton Kinnon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mystic Valley Regional, putting up 21 points.

Innovation Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Mystic Valley Regional, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

Innovation Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 60-34 defeat against Minuteman Regional on the 17th. As for Mystic Valley Regional, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 92-58 win against Academy of Notre Dame on the 15th.
