Preview: Meridian Warriors vs. Highland Rams
The Meridian Warriors will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Highland Rams at 8:15 p.m. on November 10th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Meridian is ranked fifth, while Highland is ranked second).
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Meridian had no problem doing just that on Friday. They slipped by Mountain View 24-23.
Meanwhile, Highland came tearing into Friday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Owyhee 28-10.
Jackson Riddle continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 226 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry. Riddle's longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards.
Their wins bumped Meridian to 7-3 and Highland to 9-1.
Meridian beat Highland 21-14 in their previous matchup back in September. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Highland's Riddle, who rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Meridian still be able to contain him? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
