Salem had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Winthrop Vikings with a sharp 50-30 win. The Witches have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Salem's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Winthrop, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Coming up, Salem won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Beverly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Witches will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Winthrop, they will host Peabody Veterans Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
