Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cape Coral). They blew past the East Lee County Jaguars 22-7 on Tuesday. The Seahawks haven't had any issues with the Jaguars recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.
Adriana Thorton made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four). She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs.
In other batting news, Mya Ramirez was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Jocelyn Slater also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Cape Coral always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .857. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Cape Coral's record is now 14-4. As for East Lee County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
East Lee County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 16-8 defeat against Everglades City on the 10th. Hopefully Cape Coral paid attention to the Jaguars' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
