Baseball Game Preview: Overton Bobcats vs. Hillsboro Burros

The Overton Bobcats will face off against the Hillsboro Burros at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Thursday, Overton got the win against Antioch by a conclusive 11-1.

Luke Tickle tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Overton let Will Livingston and TJ Coleman run wild. Livingston went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Coleman got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases Coleman has posted since back in March. Jackson Bennett was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Overton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Hillsboro made easy work of Overton on Wednesday and carried off a 20-6 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Burros.

Overton's victory bumped their record up to 17-14. As for Hillsboro, their win bumped their record up to 15-13.

Overton might still be hurting after the 20-6 defeat they got from Hillsboro when the teams last played on Wednesday. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
