Preview: Ririe Bulldogs vs. Sugar-Salem Diggers
The Ririe Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Sugar-Salem Diggers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ririe will be strutting in after a win while Sugar-Salem will be coming in after a defeat.
Ririe put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 58-23 win over Salmon. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Ririe has posted against Salmon since January 21, 2021.
Meanwhile, Sugar-Salem faced South Fremont in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Sugar-Salem fell just short of South Fremont by a score of 49-46. Sugar-Salem just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
The losing side was boosted by Ashlyn Harris, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Andee Petterson, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and two steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Ririe and bumps their season record up to 6-10. As for Sugar-Salem, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.
Ririe was dealt a bruising 65-27 defeat at the hands of Sugar-Salem in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Ririe was down 34-13.
