Basketball Recap: Northwest Cabarrus' Higher State Rank on Full Display on Thursday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Robinson, Northwest Cabarrus was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 24-14 win over the Concord Spiders. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Spiders are ranked 474th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northwest Cabarrus' victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Concord, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest Cabarrus will face off against Carson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Concord, they will square off against Central Cabarrus at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
