Volleyball Recap: South Range Falls to West Branch in First Game of Season

South Range unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Branch Warriors on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost eight in a row.

While South Range was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-23.

Anna Toy paced South Range's offense, picking up five kills. Toy got some help from Natalie Burnett and her eight assists. Lily Weaver controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Coincidentally, South Range and West Branch will both be playing Smithville the next time they take the court. The Raiders will host the Smithies at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Warriors will play them later in the day, at 11:15 a.m.
