Softball Game Preview: Covina Colts vs. Northview Vikings

After both having extra time off, the Covina Colts and the Northview Vikings will shake off the rust and duke it out at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northview took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Covina, who comes in off a win.

Last Thursday, Covina earned a 5-1 victory over Wilson. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Colts.

Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Northview's good fortune finally ran out last Thursday. They fell 7-2 to West Covina.

Reina Granados was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Bella Ochoa, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Northview's loss dropped their record down to 13-6-1. As for Covina, they now have a winning record of 8-7-1.

Covina couldn't quite get it done against Northview in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 4-0. Can the Colts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
