Basketball Recap: John Hancock Academy Comes Up Short

John Hancock Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 59-41 bruising from the Covenant Academy Rams. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-39 back in January.

Ryan Stevens was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 15 boards for Covenant Academy. Stevens' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Lucas Fisher was another key player, going 6 for 8 en route to 12 points and six rebounds.

John Hancock Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Covenant Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. John Hancock Academy will venture away from home to square off against Thomas Jefferson Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Covenant Academy, they will head out to challenge Strong Rock Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
