Baseball Recap: San Tan Charter Find Success

San Tan Charter and Chandler Prep pushed the score to 19-5 the last time they played Chandler Prep, but on Thursday defenses reigned supreme. The Roadrunners had just enough and edged out the Titans 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Roadrunners in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won three in a row.

Dillon Wildrick spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Richie Perez, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Tommy Crupi was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

San Tan Charter's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Chandler Prep, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 7-4.
