After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Elida, Jefferson was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Waynesfield-Goshen Tigers with a sharp 17-0 victory. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Jefferson got a massive performance out of Dean Trentman, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four runs, one double, and one RBI. Those four runs gave Trentman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Karder Agner, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Jefferson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Jefferson's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-13. As for Waynesfield-Goshen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Coming up, Jefferson will welcome Ada at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Waynesfield-Goshen, they will head out to square off against Botkins at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
