Baseball Recap: Make It Nine in a Row for Philomath

Philomath waltzed into their game on Thursday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They blew past the Cascade Cougars 19-2. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Philomath's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.2 runs over those games. As for Cascade, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Philomath will head out to face off against Newport at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cascade, they will venture away from home to square off against Stayton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
