Soccer Game Preview: Wakefield vs. Millbrook

The Wakefield Wolverines will challenge the Millbrook Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wakefield is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.2 goals per game this season.

Wakefield's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Rolesville 5-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Wakefield.

They hit Rolesville with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kayli Barlett (2), Mallory Stroud (2), and Sara Barlett.

Meanwhile, Millbrook faced Heritage in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 1-0. Considering the last time Millbrook couldn't score was back in March, the team can't take the result too hard.

Wakefield now has a winning record of 6-5-2. As for Millbrook, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1-2 and their overall record down to 6-2-4.
