Softball Recap: Lewisburg Takes a Loss

Lewisburg and Germantown squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Lewisburg had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 2-1. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mavericks earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Lexi Edmiston spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Lewisburg saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kara Walker, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Lewisburg's defeat dropped their record down to 17-13. As for Germantown, their record now sits at 18-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lewisburg beat the Mavericks by a score of 12-5 on Saturday.
