Freeport's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Belvidere Bucs a 1-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Freeport also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Natalie Namio, who's now up to ten this season.

Freeport's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-2. As for Belvidere, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-4-1.

Freeport has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against DeKalb on the 12th. As for Belvidere, they will welcome Genoa-Kingston at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Genoa-Kingston will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Belvidere surely won't give up without a fight.
