Football Recap: Axtell Wildcats vs. Kenesaw Blue Devils
Axtell extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were dealt a 48-0 loss at the hands of the Kenesaw Blue Devils. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
Nic Dahl threw for 52 yards on six of 13 attempts. Reece Hunt was his top target, picking up 37 receiving yards.
As for Kenesaw, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
It was another big night for Adam Denkert, who rushed for 124 yards and one score, and also picked up 48 receiving yards and one touchdown. Cole Haahr was another key player, rushing for 33 yards and one TD.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Axtell is set to square off against their familiar foe Blue Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Kenesaw will challenge rival Elm Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
