Baseball Recap: Sterling Starts off Right with Win over Thompson Valley

Sterling took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with an 11-6 win over the Thompson Valley Eagles.

The team relied heavily on Dayten DiOrio, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Aiden Ortega was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Thompson Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Looking ahead, Sterling will take on Silver Creek in a tournament on Friday. As for Thompson Valley, they have already played their next game, a 7-4 victory against Berthoud on the 27th.
