The Etowah Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 16-13 victory over the Wheeler Wildcats. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Despite the defeat, Wheeler had strong showings from Greg Kendrick, who rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown, and Josiah Allen, who rushed for 59 yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance gave Kendrick a new career-high in rushing yards.
