Baseball Recap: Wright City's Luck Changes for the Better on Monday

Wright City had lost four straight, but after bumping their record up to 10-5 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Smithville Braves as they made off with an 11-1 win. Considering the Lumberjax have won eight matchups by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

As for Smithville, the defeat was their first on the road, dropping their record down to 5-7. They have struggled against Wright City recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

For Smithville's part, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Cummings, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Coincidentally, Wright City and Smithville will both be playing Clayton the next time they take the field. The Lumberjax will host the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Braves will host them at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
